Meco Corporation, a Unaka Company, was founded in Greeneville, Tennessee in 1959 as Metals Engineering Company. At the time, Meco manufactured fishing reel components for Shakespeare, to television chassis for Magnavox. In fact, the Meco Manufacturing Services business is still going strong making components and products here, in the USA- American Made! In the 1960's, the company evolved their manufacturing expertise into two main product lines, Meco Folding Furniture and Meco Outdoor Barbeque Grills.

Meco adopted the Aussie Grill brand in the late 1990's as they launched their beautifully designed line of gas and charcoal grills. Today, many Aussie Grills are still manufactured and assembled in the USA at the company's Greeneville, Tennessee facility including its most popular charcoal grill the Aussie Walk-a-bout and the companys's full line of electric grills and smokers.
